Dave Clendenen

Dave Clendenen is retired from a 43 year career in wildlife biology and conservation land stewardship.  He graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in wildlife Biology in 1981, then spent 15 years working as a field biologist on the California Condor Recovery Program.  He worked on the bald eagle reintroduction on Catalina Island and manned a hack site for peregrine falcons near Mono Lake.  He then worked as a Preserve Manager and Ecologist for The Wildlands Conservancy at Wind Wolves Preserve for 17 years.  In 2014, Dave returned to the San Luis Obispo area and worked for 11 years as technical staff in the Biology Department at Cal Poly.  He also began an ongoing tenure as Lands Manager with Morro Coast Audbon Society in 2014.  So, Dave is the current Preserve Manager for Sweet Springs Nature Preserve.
