Roy Poucher
Roy has been a long-time Sea & Sage Audubon (Orange County, California) trip leader, bird surveyor, and birding classes field-trip assistant—including teaching aural-birding classes—for more than 35 years.
Roy is also an international tour leader with his company, Bird Odyssey Tours. He has guided groups across the U.S. and to Central & South America, Africa, and Asia, with many more tours planned.
Roy’s passion is learning, appreciating and teaching bird vocalizations. He has had one-on-one valuable mentoring in aural birding from Nathan Pieplow, Dick Walton, Luis Baptista, Tom Hahn, Tom Stephenson and Sylvia Gallagher.
Roy has taught aural birding at the Mono Basin Bird Chautauqua (Lee Vining, CA), the Monterey Bay Bird Festival, and for years has led bird sounds workshops and field trips at the Morro Bay Bird Festival.
