Mark Holmgren Mark was the Curator of Vertebrates at UC Santa Barbara's Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration. In 25 years, he conducted extensive fieldwork and led trips for students and community members. Retired in 2010, he works with Santa Barbara Audubon Society on Conservation issues. He edits the Santa Barbara Breeding Bird Study.
