Bob Barnes Bob Barnes has birded California for 45 years, led over 200 birding trips in the Golden State, and authored the Kern River Valley and Southern Sierra Nevada birding chapter in "A Birder's Guide to Southern California" by Brad Schram.
Bob worked on birding/nature tourism development project teams in Missouri, northwestern and southern Nevada (lead), and Pennsylvania.
All at birders' requests, the past 14 years Bob has organized numerous Costa Rica birding trips including three in 2018 and three in 2019. Now two for 2020 and in January 2021 are scheduled. The past 6 years (and well into the future) Costa Rican super guide Mario Cordoba and Alberto Vargas's Transportes Vitratur expert drivers/bird spotters have provided their services (and will continue) with Bob serving as American liaison as requested.
Bob returns to our festival this year to continue sharing his philosophy and techniques with all level of birders on how best to introduce beginners to birding and help novices to more effectively increase their abilities to enjoy and identify birds.
