Peter Gaede Peter Gaede grew up in southern California and currently lives in Santa Barbara. He works as a biologist specializing in birds, amphibians, and reptiles. Alongside his consulting work, he has also spent several years as a scientific illustrator, contributing to numerous scientific publications, books and articles. His undergraduate studies focused on the ecology and food habits of flammulated owls in Idaho, and his career has included offshore survey work for seabirds and marine mammals, as well as serving as a naturalist and field trip leader.
Peter thrives on sharing his knowledge and enjoys teaching others about the natural world. He's an avid traveler who enjoys exploring with his wife and two adult children, frequently visiting Mexico to immerse himself in the culture and diverse avifauna.
