Rick Derevan Rick Derevan is a native Californian who grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. He has also lived in the Bay Area, Sacramento, and (mostly) Orange County before moving to the Central Coast in 2006. Rick's interest in birding was sparked in 1974 when two birds, now with different names, began appearing on his balcony: a Western Scrub Jay and an Oregon Junco. Rick's photographs have been honored by Audubon, Defenders of Wildlife, and NANPA (North American Nature Photographers Association).
