Roy Poucher
Roy Poucher has been a Sea and Sage Audubon Society (Orange County, CA) bird trip leader, surveyor and field trip assistant in their birding classes (including aural birding) for over 30 years. For them he has led trips throughout the US. Roy also is an international tour leader and, with his company Bird Odyssey Tours, has led tours to Central and South America, Africa and Asia, as well as throughout the US. Tours to international and US locations are upcoming. His passion is bird vocalization. He has personally mentored aural birding with Dick Walton (author of the Peterson birding-by-ear audio series), Luis Baptista (late of the California Academy of Sciences), Tom Hahn (UC Davis), Nathan Pieplow (author Peterson Field Guide to Bird Sounds series) and Sylvia Gallagher (renowned Southern California birding educator). Roy has been an annual presenter at the Mono Basin Bird Chautauqua in Lee Vining, CA, and has taught aural birding for the Monterey Bay Birding Festival.
