Daniel Elting Daniel Elting has been birding since he was a teenager, beginning with the species that frequented his hometown backyard in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since then he has earned a bachelor's degree in field biology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and worked as a wildlife biologist all across the United States. He has worked on ornithological research projects studying migratory connectivity of long-distance migrants, and worked towards the conservation of several sensitive and endangered species. He has birded in almost every U.S. state and can remember the time and place of every "lifer" he's ever found. Daniel is passionate about expanding the world of birding especially to the younger generations and is always seeking an outlet to share his bird knowledge.
