Trevor Wimmer
Trevor started birding when I was 8 and have kept a life list since he was 10. Originally from Utah, he has lived in southern California since 1999. I have lived in the desert near Palm Springs since 2015. I have always had family in the Los Osos area and have been birding the Central Coast since the late 1990’s. Professionally, I wear many hats. I am an environmental planner and get the opportunity to moonlight as a biologist when a project requires bird surveys or nesting bird monitoring. I teach a natural resources course at College of the Desert, I lead bird tours at Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage, and I conduct quarterly bird surveys at the Salton Sea for Audubon California. I have had the opportunity to bird various parts of the world, but I am passionate about California birds, their habitat, and sharing the wonders of these feathered friends with others.
