Emily Brown Emily is 21 years old and in her third year at Cal Poly SLO, where she is majoring in Environmental Earth and Soil Science and minoring in Land Restoration Ecology. After college, she hopes to work on restoration projects in the many beautiful state parks in California and Oregon. She mainly studies the complexities of soils and how the soil microbiome interacts with the plants and microbes that live in it. Emily volunteers at the Sweet Springs Preserve in Los Osos, helping restore native vegetation and protect the habitat of the wildlife that lives there. She is just getting into birding and is excited to learn more together!
