Rich has spend years as a volunteer organizing Audubon birding tours throughout California before creating a bird touring company, Yellowbilled Tours. He leads field trips to many of the Important Birding Areas, including Alaska, the Mojave and Sonoran deserts, and spring warbler migration viewing in Wisconsin, Texas, and New Mexico; also France and Italy for birding hot spots. Rich has played an integral part in avian biological surveys as part of state and county land planning of wind turbine and solar farm management.
