Prefumo Creek Restoration Site at City Farm SLO is an important natural corridor in between the Target shopping center and agricultural lands of San Luis Obispo! This small strip of creek, trees, shrubs, and native plants provides important habitat, food, and a safe space for numerous birds and other animals and was an historical spawning site for steelhead trout. Join Steven Marx and Anne Marie Bergen to learn more about its history, discover the many birds along the creek, in the willows and cottonwoods, and learn how to engage with this city treasure through nature journaling. In this session you will be introduced to the Prefumo Creek restoration site by Steven, learn some basic nature journaling strategies with Anne Marie, then select your favorite sit spot along the creek to journal and bird watch!
What to bring: Binoculars along with your Notebook or Journal and pencil/pen.
What will be provided: 1) high quality watercolor sets and water brushes; 2)watercolor paper you can add to your notebook or journal.
