231 Heron Rookery and Windy Cove
Join Jeff Miller & Max Roberts to explore the Heron Rookery Natural Preserve and Windy Cove. During the breeding season, these trees are crowed with nesting herons, egrets and Double-Crested Cormorants. Continue down the trail to Windy Cove for a variety of shorebirds, sea ducks, perhaps a Belted Kingfisher and Osprey. Continue on to the Morro Bay State Park Museum of Natural History for views of the Bay and Grassy Island. Meets at the Inn at Morro Bay, 60 State Park Road, Morro Bay. Park in the upper parking lot, just after turning into The Inn.
