Step into the riparian zone - the lush, dynamic land next to freshwater streams and rivers - and use your nature journaling tools to explore its unique vegetation and interactions. This session focuses on capturing the intricate stories of water's edge and woodland connections. You'll learn techniques for mapping, observing, and documenting the vibrant life in these transitional areas. The session includes a journaling demo, hands-on activity, and a group discussion to reflect on your discoveries.
This session is suited for all skill levels, and no prior drawing experience is required. Participants will need a Journal/ Sketchbook, Pen/Pencil or any preferred drawing or writing tools, their choice of coloring medium: Color Pencils / Tombow brush pens / Watercolor
Optional but helpful Supplies: a ruler for measurements, binoculars, a folding chair.
Meets at El Choro Park, 3450 Dairy Creek Road, San Luis Obispo. Drive past the Botanical Garden office to the end of the road, just past the dog park.
