135 Ventura Settling Ponds Bird Adventure
Designed for those driving north to the festival from the south, enjoy a birding adventure at the Ventura Settling Ponds. This is an an easy walk along dirt paths around the shore of the settling ponds, one of the top birding locations in Ventura County. We’ll be looking for ducks, grebes, woodpeckers, overwintering warblers, sparrows, swallows and swifts. Herons, gulls, pelicans, hawks and harriers are likely plus much more. No restrooms or drinking water, nearest public restrooms are at Surfer’s Knoll parking lot.
Meet at the entrance on Angler Court at 900 am. Take Harbor Blvd to Spinnaker towards Ventura Harbor. Turn left on Angler, and the entrance is immediately on the right before the Water Treatment Plant. Limited parking available on Angler, or free parking on Spinnaker (check the signs) or in the very first village lot. All other lots are paid parking.
