Join Greg Smith to tour a portion of the 1,200-acre private Vandenheuvel Ranch, a 30-minute drive from the Morro Bay Community Center. The ranch has native chaparral, oak woodland, and grasslands habitat, providing the opportunity to see various raptors (including Golden Eagles), meadowlarks, bluebirds, woodpeckers, and more. The property also contains a flight pen to rehabilitate birds of prey from the Pacific Wildlife Center. Expect about 1 mile or less of slow walking over mostly level terrain and multiple car stops. Wear sturdy shoes, bring a snack and water. Meets at the Ranch, 1960 Montecito Road, Cayucos.
