Leader Details

Kaaren Perry Kaaren has been interested in birds and nature since childhood. Just ask her about her yard list! She is an avid birder and has birded extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. For the past 30 years she has also enjoyed leading local field trips for various groups from around the state and beyond. Kaaren has also lead a birding trip to Alaska for the Sierra Club. She has conducted classes in the study of gulls, seabirds and birds of the rocky coast. The specific study of gulls has become her passion.

Over the years she has been selected as field trip leader for the Salton Sea and San Diego birding festivals and more recently an annual presenter and trip leader for the Morro Bay Winter Festival.

Currently Kaaren is serving as Education Committee Chairperson for Morro Coast Audubon. She enjoys coordinating a team of educators as they present their program to classrooms throughout San Luis Obispo county where they share their love of watching and learning about birds and wildlife with enthusiastic young boys and girls.
